MPI
Research, in conjunction with the
Global Cardiovascular Innovation
Center, is proud to announce that
the topic of its 2008 educational
summit is Cardiovascular
Safety in Pharmaceutical and Medical
Device Development. Held
May 4-6, 2008, the summit is part
of the continuing series of annual
education seminars, Advances
In Therapeutic Discovery And Drug
Development, hosted by
MPI Research.
The cosponsor for this year's summit is the Global Cardiovascular Innovation
Center (GCIC), a large research
and product development consortium,
lead by the Cleveland Clinic -
the #1 ranked heart center in the
US for the past 13 years. GCIC
was established to assist companies
and commercialize cardiovascular
products to improve patient care.

Cosponsors.
Marc Penn, MD, PhD
will be the keynote speaker at
this year's summit. Dr. Penn is
the Medical Director of the Cardiac
Intensive Care Unit at the Cleveland
Clinic and a cardiologist in the
Departments of Cardiovascular Medicine
and Cell Biology. He is also the
Director of the Experimental Animal
Laboratory and Associate Director
of the Cardiovascular Medicine
Fellowship Training Program.
Notable
speakers from industry, regulatory,
and academia will also be presenting
their latest findings, and will
focus on opportunities, challenges,
and common themes that are shaping
preclinical cardiovascular safety
research. The implications of recent
scientific advances and the influence
of the ever-evolving regulatory
environment in relation to drug
and medical device development
will be explored.
Because registration
is limited towards enhancing informal
tactical and strategic discussions,
summit attendees will have ample
opportunity to discuss with summit
presenters their own unique experiences
along the critical path to therapeutic
approvals.
Individuals involved in
the drug and device therapeutic discovery
and drug development process will
find this meeting to be highly relevant.
