Targeted Discovery Research
at MPI Research assists Sponsors with preclinical efficacy and
safety testing. This unit's diversely trained team of scientific
Research Associates and Study Directors has developed a range of
models that expedite the discovery and development processes within
the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Additionally,
the staff has experience in conducting studies involving human
and rat stem cells.
Specialized routes of test-article administration are available, including intravenous
injection in rats and mice and central administration via stereotaxic placement
of cannulas/catheters (intracerebral/intrathecal) and delivery of cell-based
therapeutics in rodents. MPI Sponsors also benefit from the in vitro support
services which include a tissue culture facility and in vitro facility,
a BSL-2 laboratory for handling pathogens, and GLP-compliant cell biology and
flow cytometry laboratory.
