MPI Research, a leader worldwide

Society, being held September 26-28, 2006
at the Town and Country Resort and Convention

detailing the recent efforts of MPI Research
scientists on our Safety Pharmacology team:
- Validation of an ICH-compliant
functional observational battery in nonhuman
primates
- Validation of rodent self-administration
procedures for abuse liability testing
in a contract research organization
- Validation of rodent drug discrimination
procedures for abuse liability testing
in a contract research organization
- Simultaneous assessment of ECGs
using intracardiac and subcutaneous leads
under various environmental conditions
in nonhuman primates
- Effects of cisapride, sotalol
and haloperidol in a Langendorff assay
and comparison to hERG, Purkinje fiber
and in vivo telemetry assays
- Validation
of methods to assess respiratory function
in tandem with pleural pressure and diaphragm
EMGs in conscious freely-moving nonhuman
primates
Additionally, Drs. Ted Baird
and David Gauvin and MPI Research surgeon
David Moddrelle will be instructors in Continuing
Education courses. “The Safety Pharmacology Society
